Hairspray tell the story of Tracy. Tracy is the fat girl in school and all she wants to do is go home and watch her favorite TV show. Unfortunately the star of the show is the popular girl in her school. When Tracy gets a chance to audition for the show, she skips school only to be foiled in her attempt and earns herself a place in detention. In detention she learns how to dance with all the right moves. She gets cast in the show and her dreams come true.
